Accessible Holidays

Accessible Holidays, Planned With Real Understanding

At Travel Sense, accessibility is not an afterthought - It is personal.

Planning a holiday when you or a loved one has a disability can feel overwhelming. Will the hotel really be accessible? Will the resort understand your needs? What happens if something goes wrong while you are away?

We understand those questions because many of us ask them for our own families too. Our team includes parents and siblings of children and adults with disabilities, so we know how important it is that every detail is checked, double-checked, and handled with care.

Our Accessible Holidays service is here to remove the stress, give you confidence, and create holidays where every member of your party is truly included.

Why accessible travel matters to us

Accessible travel is not a niche product for us - It is part of our everyday lives. Within the Travel Sense team we have children and close family members who are visually impaired, blind, hard of hearing, have Down syndrome and live with complex medical needs.

We know what it feels like to worry about access, to fear arriving somewhere that is not suitable, and to spend hours researching whether a hotel or destination will really work for your family.

That is why we created our Accessible Holidays service. We combine our professional travel expertise with our lived experience as parents, carers and siblings, so we can offer holidays that are carefully chosen, thoughtfully checked and genuinely supportive from the moment you get in touch.

You’ll always deal directly with one of our accessible travel specialists.

Who we support

Visually impaired symbol

Travellers with visual impairment

We plan holidays with safety, clarity and ease of navigation in mind. This includes choosing accommodation with clear layouts, good lighting and logical pathways, sharing detailed written information in advance, and avoiding properties where navigation relies heavily on visual complexity or poorly marked spaces.

Hard of hearing symbol

Deaf or hard of hearing travellers

We prioritise clear, written communication throughout the journey. From detailed written itineraries to hotels with clear signage and written information, we help reduce reliance on verbal announcements and ensure key details are easy to follow.

needs

We carefully assess step-free access, room locations and transfer options before booking. This includes requesting ground-floor or lift-accessible rooms, confirming adapted bathroom features where required, and arranging suitable transfers to reduce unnecessary steps or barriers throughout the journey.

Neurodivergent travller symbol

Neurodivergent travellers

We support calmer, more predictable travel experiences. This may include recommending quieter resorts, planning realistic travel timings, avoiding overly busy changeover days, and providing clear written itineraries to help reduce uncertainty and sensory overload.

Medicine Symbol

Medical needs

We take time to understand any medical considerations and plan accordingly. This includes checking medication storage requirements, proximity to medical facilities where appropriate, and helping you prepare the right information for airlines, accommodation providers and travel insurers.

Other Needs

If your needs fall outside these categories, we’ll take the time to understand what matters to you and plan around it. Our approach is always personal, flexible and based on open conversations rather than assumptions.

From our family to yours

When you speak to us about an accessible holiday, you’re not just talking to a travel agent. You’re talking to people who live this world every day as parents, siblings and carers. We know what matters, what to ask, and what to double check.

Our Accessible Holidays service was created so more families like ours can experience the joy of travel with confidence, comfort and support. We’d love to help you plan a holiday that feels right for you.
